“I was looking for vinyl plank flooring for the kitchen and the big box stores didn’t have what I was looking for. I stopped in at Duncan flooring and found a product made by Shaw flooring. Christine the sales person was very informative on all the products especially Shaw. The floor plank came 6″ X 48″ which made a nice complement in my home. It was a loose lay install (not glued down). The floor was very easy to install and has been down for 6 months with no problems. When I was removing the original 12″ X 12″ self stick vinyl in the kitchen a sticky film was left on underlayment. Christine suggested to use a product called Ardex. Comes in powder form. Mix with water spread over subfloor with 16″ cement finishing trowel very thin application. There were a few spots I needed to glue the plank so used clear silicone with caulk gun which made it easy to apply. There are many products out there If you can’t find it at the big box stores do what I did. (see more photos) “
